Position Description

We have immediate summer openings at multiple Bay Area locations for FULL time Camp Supervisors. You will interview, train and supervise staff in summer camps M-F. You will supervise teaching and will also receive training to teach classes. You must attend paid mandatory training weekends and attend multiple phone conferences prior to start of camp.

This Camp Supervisor position that fits around school-year employment or graduate school. Most Camp Supervisors have full time teaching or similar jobs during the school year. Depending on date of hire, Supervisors can also work up to 5 hours per week from date off hire to June (plus 1 or 2 training weekends), then full time for entire summer season (4-6 weeks depending on location). Camp Supervisor must live locally and have reliable transportation. We do not provide lodging.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for camp set-up, camp close-down

  • You will hire or interview, train, mentor and supervise a staff of 3-5 junior staff or counselors

  • You will ensure of camper safety, parent communication, excellent course delivery and ensure campers meet learning objectives

  • Complete training to be able to teach and/or supervise teaching of camp curriculum

  • Inspire 5.5-14yr olds in group setting while maintaining a joyful vibe

  • Maintain safe, clean and positive classroom environment

  • Produce high quality educational and fun programs including games, pitch/hack contests, lunch and afternoon “team-building” activities

  • Communicate effectively, professionally and consistently with parents, colleagues, supervisor and partners (facility, service and activity partners) to ensure parents’ delight

  • Make sure all camp supplies and class material, computers, projectors, and other supplies are in good condition, setup correctly, later accounted for, organized and returned

  • Be eager to learn new educational concepts and tools

  • Have a can do attitude to ensure that the camp is a success with parents, campers, partner facility managers and the community

Requirements

  • Experience teaching youth in a group setting and passion for developing young minds

  • STEM, Business or computer science background is a plus but not necessary

  • Commit to 2 consecutive years and entire summer season is preferred

  • Fluency in English and must be able to work legally in United States.

  • Positive and professional attitude

  • Excellent and engaging presentation skills

  • Reliable with excellent organization and time management skills

  • Excellent customer service and team building

  • Excellent mentoring and coaching ability to guide interns, counselors and teachers

  • Must be able to stand, walk, run, lift and carry heavy boxes of handouts and supply.

  • Must live within driving distance from your assigned campsite and have reliable transportation

Coding Instructor - Summer Camp

We have immediate summer openings for PART time or FULL time lead instructors, or instructors (college students in ANY major) and assistant instructors (high school seniors). Many locations available in South Bay, East Bay and Peninsula. If hired you will attend online training sessions and one in person session, review camp training prior to start of camp.

  • Show up reliably early or on time

  • You will be responsible for camp set-up, camp clean up

  • You will ensure of camper safety, parent communication, excellent course delivery and ensure campers meet learning objectives

- Game Making with Scratch.

About the role

If you're obsessed with Instagram and want to get hands-on experience in developing strategies, creating content, and posting for STEM4kids, we'd love to hear from you!

Candidates must have an interest in pushing the boundaries of Instagram and testing new strategies. In addition to contributing to branded social media efforts and assisting with marketing campaigns, the intern will have the opportunity to create content and support in the day-to-day management of our account.
 

What you will do

  • Assist with planning and content creation, whether it's using Canva for IG Story graphics, or posting to Newsfeed

  • Schedule and post content for brand accounts on Instagram

  • Assist with influencer marketing, including outreach and product seeding coordination

  • Actively monitor social media channels, and engage with the community (whether it is on our account or other accounts)

  • Contribute to Instagram Reels

  • Contribute to TikTok
     

What you bring

  • Experience in social media marketing and a love of all things social media

  • Great writing skills

  • iPhone photography/videography and editing expertise

  • Graphic design (Canva) experience

Leader in training Volunteers - Teens Volunteering Program

​Come join the premier leadership development program in the Bay Area! Incoming 9th, 10th, 11th graders have the unique opportunity to learn leadership skills through hands-on experiences and positive peer influence!

Our Leader in training Volunteers (LIT’) in STEM Education is a Summer Volunteering Program is designed to give teens the ability to work together with Lead instructors.The Program is intended to help young adults develop leadership skills and real-world job experience by working directly with Lead instructors and Directors.

Our Program are STEM based, We have camps in various STEM field like Robotics, Coding, Science Workshop, entrepreneurship , Invention. with our program, it will strives to prepare you for your first job and life in college.The responsibility of corresponding with staff and treating the program like a first job, it will prepare you better to enter in post-high school life. All LIT will receive training to be prepare before the camps start. We do provide opportunity for Earning service hours. We don't pay high student as a employee. but we would like to give token of appreciation to encourage them.

While Volunteering , we want to encourage and enhance learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and other subjects to opens doors for them to new and better career opportunities and more fulfilling, successful lives. We even don't need to mention, as we all know the Why STEM Skills is so important? Already 65% of today’s jobs require STEM skills, and 16 of the 30 fastest-growing careers demand substantial math and science education. And this is only the beginning. A STEM education is essential in today’s world for our children.

LIT applicants must be available to work a minimum of 2 sessions per summer, and expect to be scheduled for those sessions. If they are available more than 2 weeks, they can choose their preferred weeks. We do not schedule for partial weeks so they must be available Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm. Top applicants can request to be scheduled more/all of sessions that they are available since many of our LIT's love the job and want to work all summer. No guarantees of scheduling will be made beyond 1 week.

Applicants must show a minimum availability of 2 weeks, but they can express a desire to work more weeks if they want. All coaches accepted into the LIT program will be scheduled a minimum of 1 week, but only candidates who show maturity, contribution and positive impact will be scheduled for additional weeks.

LIT's are treated just like every coach on our staff and have duties throughout the day coaching kids and doing tasks to make camp function. They are an equal member of the Bald Eagle Team and in no way are they given "grunt tasks" because they are not part of our paid staff.

  • Letter of Recommendation will be written upon request for future jobs/programs/universities applications

  • As incoming Juniors in high school, top LIT's will be offered paid positions in forthcoming summers as spots become available
