Every June, families across South Bay face the same question: Where do I send my kid for summer camp that's actually worth it?

If you're in Los Gatos, Portal, West San Jose, Blossom Hill, or Almaden Valley, you're in luck. You're within easy reach of two STEM4Kids campuses — and this guide is designed to help you find the right fit.

What Is STEM4Kids?

STEM4Kids has been running coding and robotics summer camps in the South Bay for 12 years. Real instructors. Small groups. Programs built around real growth — not flashy marketing. Every week, kids build something, learn something, and walk away more confident than when they arrived.

Both locations run Monday through Friday, 9am to 3:30pm, from June 8 through August 12.

The Programs

Whether your child is 5½ or 14, there's a track designed for their level:

Junior Lego Robotics (Spike Essential) — Ages 5½–9: Build robots from scratch and make them move. Perfect entry point for curious young engineers in Almaden Valley and Blossom Hill.

Vex Go Robotics — Ages 5 yr 8 mo–9: An intuitive robotics system built for early builders. Popular with Portal and West San Jose families.

CodeMaker: Scratch — Ages 7–10: Drag-and-drop programming that turns ideas into real games and animations.

Advanced Lego Robotics (EV3 / Spike Prime) — Ages 9–14: For kids who are ready to move from "playing with robots" to actually programming them.

Python Programming — Ages 9–14: Real-world coding in the language used by engineers everywhere. Los Gatos families tell us this is the one that surprises them most.

Vex IQ Robotics — Ages 8 yr 10 mo–13: Competitive-level robotics in a camp setting.

Art Camp — Ages 5½–12: For the creative kid who wants to make things with their hands.
