Vex Go Robotics Summer Camp

We are excited to have your camper join us to take part in the Summer of Learning! During our VEX GO Invention Lab, your camper can be a scientist, engineer, designer, and creative thinker—all while having fun exploring and learning about STEM ideas and concepts.
Campers will work together to solve various challenges, igniting their love of learning through engaging activities that blend creativity and imagination with hands-on robotics.
The curriculum is designed to polish students STEM skills :
-
Apply engineering design skills at each step of the design process.
-
Develop efficient problem-solving and coding skills through decomposition of problems and algorithmic thinking.
-
Apply critical thinking and develop life skills for the careers of tomorrow.
Classmates work in pairs or individually to complete projects and compete in a tournament. This Camp and curriculum are designed to help children prepare for Vex Robotics competitions. The course will focus on the engineering design process, building, and programming using Vex Go.
🛠️ 1. Design and Build
In this phase, students dive into the physical world of engineering. As they prepare for their mission, campers will experiment with different building techniques, work through design challenges, and practice communicating their technical ideas clearly within their team as they build the structures required for their voyage.
-
Intro Track (The Rookie Path): Created specifically for novice individuals or teams needing structured instruction, grounding them in the fundamentals. Campers learn how to build sturdy, reliable bases and explore how gears and motors provide the power needed to move their inventions across the field.
-
Advanced Track (The Pro Path): Meant for those who possess a fundamental understanding yet hunger for progressive skill enhancement. These builders design more complex systems, such as specialized robotic arms and high-torque lifting tools, to solve difficult mechanical puzzles.
💻 2. Create and Code
Once the robot is built, it needs a "brain." Using VEXcode, students learn how to program their machines to complete specific tasks.
-
Intro Track: Beginners learn the essentials of "Sequencing"—putting commands in the right order to make their robot drive, turn, and stop exactly where they want it to go.
-
Advanced Track: Experienced campers explore Automation. They write complex code using sensors, allowing their robot to "see" obstacles and make its own decisions without a remote control.
🏆 Solve Real-World Challenges
The week reaches its peak as teams put their inventions to the test in our Grand Challenge Arena. * The Mission: Teams must use their custom-built robots to complete various tasks, such as moving samples, clearing obstacles, or rescuing items from a designated zone.
-
The Goal: It’s not just about speed; it’s about Iterative Design—testing a solution, seeing why it failed, and fixing it until the mission is a success!
If desiring a half-day camp (9-12:00) Use can just register for the Half-day Robotics camp only.

Camp Key Elements
-
STEM-based curriculum on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
-
The camp curriculum is designed for intro to advanced students
-
Hands-on experimental and exploratory study
-
Kids will learn strategies for “Critical Thinking, Lateral Thinking, Problem-solving, Designing Projects, and Communicating Ideas.”
-
They will discover basic physical science concepts such as gears, pulleys, levers, wheels, and axles
-
Students will be assigned projects according to their grades and skills.
-
At the beginning of the week, teachers will evaluate students' prior experiences (if any) as they plan their week's curriculum.
-
Get ready for the Vex Robotic Competition.
-
At the end of week, teams will have Robot battles competitions.
Friday Showcase
At the end of each week, attendees can invite their family and friends to join us for a showcase celebration to share their final projects. Learn more about the fun and exciting activities your child experienced during the week and have an opportunity to meet your child’s instructor. Presentations vary by course topic and instructors will highlight some of the important concepts covered during the week and possible next steps to continue your child’s learning. Showcase begins at 11:00 AM and is typically finished by 11:45 AM. Then after lunch, we will start Fun Friday - Walking Movie, Snacks, Games, Lots of fun
