Academics camp at STEM4KidsAcademics Spring Camps in Cupertino & San José for Ages 5–10. Every day is split: half grade-leveled math and English, half cooking, building, speaking or business. The academic work is set for the grade your child enters in the fall, worksheets are graded and come home daily, and you can tell us exactly where they need help. Camp runs 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with half-day and extended-care options. No experience needed for any of them.

How the day is split
These are bundled camps. One half of the day is academics; the other half is the camp's own subject. Each camp's page says which half is which — for the camps running now, mornings are academics and afternoons are the camp’s own subject.
The academic half
Leveled for the grade they're entering, not the one they just left. A child finishing kindergarten works on first-grade math and English, so September starts on solid ground rather than three weeks behind.
Math, writing and reading, balanced. Not math with a token reading sheet — the three are weighted evenly.
Graded, and sent home every day. Teachers mark the work and it goes home with your child, so you can see what they did rather than take our word for it.
Tell us where they're struggling. If you say your child is shaky on fractions or on reading comprehension, we prepare the worksheets around that and work with them on it. And if we find the level is too easy, we move it up ourselves without waiting to be asked.
The four afternoons
Young Chefs — cookingA different recipe each day, built toward understanding a balanced meal: pasta with a sauce they make, pizza, salads, sandwiches, desserts. Campers learn what ingredients do and why nutrition matters, cook it, eat it, and build their own recipe book to take home.
Little Builders — building and makingA room full of LEGO® and an open brief. Themes vary — a modern city, whatever a group lands on — and campers build from their own ideas, working in mechanics and engineering as they go, including motorized builds. This is the one where creativity leads and the engineering follows.
Young Speakers — public speakingReal communication skills through playful, no-pressure practice: storytelling structure, organizing an idea, speaking clearly and slowly, projecting the voice, eye contact and body language, listening and teamwork. The point is confidence and presence, learned through fun rather than fear.
Young CEOs — businessHow a business actually works: product versus service, sales models, pricing and making change, money math, branding and design. Campers invent a business, brand it, and pitch it — with the same speaking skills Young Speakers builds underneath it, because a pitch is a talk.
Who these are for
Any child. The academic half suits a family who wants the summer to hold ground rather than lose it, and the other half is a real camp — not a consolation prize for doing worksheets.
Friday
Parents are invited to the showcase, 11:00 AM–11:45 AM. Campers present their own week: the recipe book, the build, the talk, the business pitch. Teachers are there afterward to go through the academic work and where your child is.

Before you book a academics week.
Is this tutoring, or camp?
It's camp, with real teaching in it. One half of the day is grade-level math and English; the other half is the week's specialty — cooking with Young Chefs, building with Little Builders, starting a business with Young CEOs. Children keep their academics moving through the summer and come away with a skill they didn't have.
How do you match the morning academics to my child's level?
We plan to the grade your child is going into in the fall — a child finishing kindergarten gets first-grade work. That's the starting point, not the whole answer: tell us what they need and the instructors will work on it.
Will this keep them from losing ground over the summer?
Yes — that's the point of the format. They keep working on what they learn during the school year, and they get a specialty on top of it.
Do they do academics all day?
No. One half of the day is academics; the other half is the specialty — cooking, building, business, public speaking, depending on the week.
