Which robotics camp?

LEGO® track
Built around FIRST® LEGO® League challenges. Start here if your child is new to robotics.
VEX® track
Built around VEX® Robotics Competition challenges. The next step after a few LEGO camps.

New to robotics? Start with Builders or Rookies. Done a few LEGO camps? VEX. Coming back for a second week? It moves up a level, never repeats.

A sample week

Monday
The base robot. Get it moving and learn to control it.
Tuesday
Add a motor. Challenges that force campers to use it.
Wednesday
The color sensor arrives. Follow a line, solve a maze.
Thursday
Do it faster, more reliably. Pairs at their own pace.
Friday
11:00–11:45 AM showcase in front of families.

Your child will learn to

  • Program motors and drive the robot under their own code
  • Program sensors and make the robot respond to them
  • Debug their own program when the robot does the wrong thing
  • Explain the mechanics of their build

The robot goes back in the kit; the code, the photos and the Friday video come home.

“We had a wonderful experience with the STEM4Kids summer camp! My child learned so much and really enjoyed the hands-on activities and learning opportunities. It was amazing to see how engaged and excited my child was throughout the camp. Shwetha was extremely responsive, quick to reply, and very approachable and reliable. Any questions or concerns were answered promptly, which made the whole experience very smooth and reassuring. Highly recommend STEM4Kids for parents looking for a fun, educational, and engaging summer camp for their kids”

“My 6 years old son enjoys this camp so much! The instructors partner him up with two 7 years old kids and he had a blast working with them. The main instructor is so kind to him. Overall a good balance between playing and learning environment here.”

“Fue un espacio de diversión y aprendizaje muy agradable para mi hijo, aprendió y practicó durante su summer camp, las actividades entretenidas y de gran interés para él. Su instructora: Shweta, muy amable, siempre nos comentaba sobre el avance de mi hijo y además nos mostraba videos de sus actividades, así como también permitieron que el nos mostrara lo que hacía durante el día. Su último día tuvieron una actividad lúdica de ver una película y compartir con sus amigos. El año entrante regresaremos por mas tiempo. Recomendado. It was a very enjoyable space for my son to have fun and learn; he learned and practiced a lot during the summer camp, and the activities were entertaining and highly engaging for him. His instructor, Shweta, was very kind; she kept us updated on his progress and showed us videos of the activities, and we were also able to see what he had been doing during the day. On his last day, they had a fun activity where they watched a movie and socialized with friends. We will be back next year for a longer period. Highly recommended.”
