Our 2 coding camps
Which one for your child.
2 camps
Game Makers: Scratch
✓No experience needed
Build your own games in Scratch: six levels, from animating a name to arcade games.
By Friday: your child will have a finished game they built themselves, one you can play at home.
Python Programming
✓No experience needed
A structured Python curriculum: lessons, exercises and projects across six levels, from first program to Pygame.
By Friday: your child will have written working Python programs they can run, change and show you.
Which coding camp?
- Game Makers: Scratch
- Ages 7–10. Coding without syntax errors getting in the way, so all the effort goes into logic and problem-solving. Laptops provided.
- Python Programming
- Ages 9–14. Python, typed by the camper, learned by building games. Bring a laptop; loaners available on request.
New to coding, or under 9? Start with Scratch. Age 9 and up? Python. Instructors assess your child on Monday and start them at the right level. Coming back for a second week? It picks up at the next chapter, never repeats.
A sample week
- Monday
- Instructors assess each camper and place them at the right chapter.
- Tuesday
- Chapters: the idea, worked examples, exercises the camper writes.
- Wednesday
- More chapters. Ten campers can be at ten different points.
- Thursday
- Chapters continue: exercises and the unit project.
- Friday
- Hackathon morning, then the 11:00–11:45 AM showcase where campers present their own work.
Your child will learn to
- Build games and animations of their own in Scratch
- Write real Python: variables, loops, functions, then classes and data structures
- Write every line themselves; we never write the solution
- Walk you through their own work at the Friday showcase
Scratch campers use one of our laptops for the week. Python campers bring their own, so everything they write stays with them.
Coding parents
★ 5.0 on Google“My 9-year-old son had a great time and learned a lot.”
“I want to write about how much I appreciate Ms Shweta at STEM4kids in teaching my son Benjamin, the Python language. She really knows how to teach a programing language to kids and get their attention through online learning. She is super patience to her student and Ben has progressed so much from starting just a few weeks ago. I am super thrill and happy with his learning result. Prior to this I have enrolled my son Benjamin to Python with many attempts. We have tried a Coding Academy that advertised on YouTube. It was a terrible idea. Ben did not like to learn from that school. The internet connection was always troublesome and my son hated to attend the class every single week. We lost the money and the worst of all Ben could be frustrated and lost his interest in coding altogether. We are thankful of Ms Shweta’s teaching! You are The Great Python Teacher!”
“My 16 year old enjoyed Python camp so much that he asked me to sign him up for subsequent weeks! He said he learned a lot. He's never said that about any camp before.”
