Arduino & Electronics Camps for Kids — What We Run Instead

[PLACEHOLDER] STEM4Kids offered Arduino-based electronics camps through 2023. We moved our robotics curriculum to LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime and VEX® IQ because they let children build, program and compete within a single camp week — something breadboard electronics couldn't deliver at the same pace. Enrolment in the Arduino section dropped from 14 children in 2021 to zero by 2024, while VEX and LEGO sessions filled consistently.

What we recommend instead

[PLACEHOLDER] Our VEX® Robotics: Engineers camp is the closest match — competition robotics for ages 9–13, coding in blocks, Python or C++, real VEX IQ Challenge matches. Children who liked Arduino's "build from components" approach tend to love VEX IQ's multi-stage mechanisms.
